Importing into Brazil: on behalf, by order or direct | TEUCOMEX
Import · For companies in Brazil

Import without building a trade structure.

TEUCOMEX takes on the operation: licence, FX, customs clearance and international freight under one management. You choose the structure — we show exactly what changes in each.

Unlimited RADAR IN RFB 1,861/2018 São Paulo HQ · Alagoas branch Since 2005

What is an import on behalf of the client?

TEUCOMEX executes the import in the client's name; the client finances it.

The buyer is identified on the declaration and takes the tax credits. Right for companies with supplier and capital in place that don't want to run the trade operation.

What is a by-order import?

TEUCOMEX imports with its own funds and resells to the predetermined buyer.

The import risk sits with TEUCOMEX; the buyer receives nationalised goods with less FX outlay on their side.

What is a direct import?

TEUCOMEX imports, clears and sells the goods domestically.

You buy with a Brazilian invoice, like any domestic purchase — with no link to the import operation.

FAQ

Straight answers.

What importers ask before their first operation.

Do I need my own RADAR licence?

No. The operation runs under TEUCOMEX's unlimited licence.

In the on-behalf and by-order structures, the client is only registered as buyer or orderer in the Siscomex Single Window. In a direct import there is no registration at all.

On behalf or by order — how to choose?

By the source of capital and appetite for risk.

If you want to finance the operation and take credits directly, on behalf. If you prefer TEUCOMEX to finance and carry the import risk, by order. A side-by-side simulation is part of the quotation.

How can a foreign producer sell wine in Brazil?

Through an importer registered with MAPA, with approved labels and batch controls.

TEUCOMEX operates the wine vertical: registration, document review, clearance and logistics — including temperature-controlled. The foreign producer needs no structure in Brazil.

How long does an import take?

It depends on origin, mode and product licensing.

The schedule is set at quotation: production, international transit, clearance and delivery. Products requiring agency approval (MAPA, ANVISA) have extra steps that are priced into the timeline from the start.
